Jesus Is Coming Are You Ready
"Behold, I come suddenly, and My reward is with Me, to give everyone according to what they have done.” Revelation 22:12.
“Repent therefore, turn to God, let your heart be changed, and your sins taken away, and be renewed in the presence and blessing of the Lord” Acts 3:19.
When we turn to God, giving ourselves to Jesus, we have hope for a wholesome, quality life, and for an eternal future. Jesus promises this to all who trust in Him.
“Let not your heart be troubled, you believe in God, believe also in Me (Jesus). In My Father’s house are many mansions, if it were not so I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you, yes, I go and prepare a place for you, and I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am there you may be also.” John 14:13.
This is precious assurance from Jesus to all who choose Him, to everyone who believes in Him. All who accept Christ’s sacrifice for their sin, who trust in Him, have an eternal home. ... Are you ready?
Jesus Savior and Redeemer
When Jesus came as a baby and grew as a man, He came to rescue all humankind. He was born into humanity, lived and died as a human being, and resurrected a victorious Savior. When He comes again, in the clouds of glory, with all His holy angels, every eye will see Him, (Matthew 16:27; 25:31; Mark 8:38l Revelation 1:7) and He will come as our Redeemer.
The Savior will come in the grandest of fanfare, not quietly tucked away in a manager. Jesus will come to redeem all who have faith and trust in Him, those who closely follow Him.
The second coming of Christ will not be as His first appearing; He will not touch the earth. Instead, all who long for Jesus and His return, will meet Him in the air, and every eye will see Him. It will be glorious! The long-awaited Savior will light up the sky, and all the holy angels will be with Him (Matthew 16:27; 24:27, 30, 31; 25:31; Mark 8:38; 1 Thessalonians 4:16, 17; Revelation 1;7).
Whether we realize it or not, every human being is yearning for the Savior. We long for our Creator to come and rescue us from this bleak and dark world; to take us to the eternal home He is preparing for all who desire Him. There will be no more crying, no more suffering, sickness, and abuse; disability, hatred, and terror will be gone forever, and sin and death will be no more (Revelation 21:1-4).
Oh, how we long for that day. Our beings cry for it, though we may not acknowledge it. We are hungering for the Deliverer. We desire that day when our Redeemer will come, when we will look up and say, Lo this is our Savior, we have waited for Him.
“And it will be said in that day, behold, this is our God; we have waited for Him, He will save us. This is the Lord; we have waited for Him. We are glad and rejoice in His salvation.” Isaiah 52:9.
Watch and Pray
The Lord Jesus has told us what to look for in recognizing when His return is near. He has alerted us to watch and pray (Matthew 24:1-51; 26:41; Mark 14:38; Luke 17:20-37; 21:5-38).
As we put our faith and trust in Him, we should be careful and watchful believers who remember that this sinful and broken world is not our home. We are sojourners and pilgrims here until the day Jesus returns as Redeemer. ... Are you ready?
Steadfast Faith and Trust
We need steadfast faith in Jesus, and to trust in His Word. In Christ and His Word we stand strong. Jesus carries us, and he strengthens us. He helps us. And the Bible is our sword in fighting the battles of self and sin, of personal and spiritual deterioration.
For the weapons of our warfare are not of human devising, but rather of God whose armor is mighty for pulling down strongholds, and for removing all arrogant thinking that exalts against the knowledge of God; submitting all our thoughts in obedience to Christ (2 Corinthians 10:4, 5).
Stand in the Lord
“…be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, so you can stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities and powers, against rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Therefore, put on the whole armor of God, so you can resist and oppose the evil, doing all to stand.”
“Stand therefore and gird your waist with truth. Put on the breastplate of righteousness. Put your shoes on and be ready to carry the gospel of peace. And above all, take the shield of faith which enables you to stop all the fiery darts of the wicked one. Take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God, and always pray earnestly, watching and persevering with fervent prayer for all the saints (followers of Jesus).” Ephesians 6:10-18.
Jesus is coming ... are you ready?
Oh, what a day it will be when we see Jesus. As it is written, eye has not seen, nor has ear heard, nor has entered the heart of men and women the things God has prepared for those who love Him. (1 Corinthians 2:9).
What a glorious day it will be when the Savior comes to redeem His faithful followers who are ready and waiting for Him.
