Wonderfully Made health

“I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; marvelous are Your deeds; and I know it very well.” Psalm139:14.

We are indeed wonderfully made, created in the image of God. (Genesis1:26). He made us to be healthy, vibrant human beings, full of beauty and true goodness. When the Creator formed the first earthly pair, they were perfect, nothing was wrong with them. They had no maladies; no marks, no malfunctioning, and they did not die.

Gardening Our First Occupation

Gardening was the first occupation. God placed Adam and Eve in a garden called Eden, filled with a multitudinous variety of delicious plants for food. Everything in Eden was available to our predecessors for their blessing and benefit, with only one exception; they were forbidden to eat from The Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, for if they did it would bring death. (Genesis1:29;2:16,17).

Free Will and Rebellion

The Creator provided a whole host of herbs for the sustenance of Adam and Eve; and He gave them a free will to choose. Sadly, God’s provisions for earth’s first couple escaped their satisfaction, even though all sorts of luscious, healthful fruits were available to them. (Genesis3:6). Charmed by satan’s deception, they fell into temptation and chose to take fruit from the forbidden tree.

Through the rebellion of Adam and Eve sin entered our world, and we have been deteriorating and dying ever since. God never intended for us to die; but He gave us a free will to choose, life or death. Unfortunately, Adam and Eve chose death; and six thousand plus years later people are still succumbing and choosing death.

Choices

Daily, many of us, like Adam and Eve, chose a debilitating existence. We make choices that are harmful and destructive. Bite by bite we destroy our minds and bodies. Day after day, we sit in front of computer, television, and phone screens wasting away, instead of getting outside in the fresh air, and moving about.

Just going for a twenty-minute walk every day will bring healthful benefits. We do not have to track our steps, climb mountains, count calories and other such things in order to enjoy a positive lifestyle. Just being playful is a substantial benefit; it improves our attitude, and how we view our life experiences. Playfulness puts us at ease, relieving stress, and releasing tension.

Enjoyable Activity Important

Enjoying what we do is important. Playing, swimming, walking, golfing, biking all are good for us, and easy on our bodies. We do not have to be Olympic swimmers, marathon runners, or world-class gymnasts to be healthy. There are plentiful activities that are fun and wholesome. Instead of being involved in degrading pursuits that break down, choose what is favorable for well-being.

Conversely, when we do make wrong decisions, and develop bad habits, there is still hope. Despite choosing what is harmful, we are not doomed.

Ability to Repair

God is so good and so amazing! Remarkably, the Creator formed us so fantastically that we have built-in abilities to repair and heal, when we choose to adopt right behavior and good patterns. In our deteriorated state, we have the capacity for restoration.

We are so wonderfully made that, in spite of the hefty toll sin has exacted, built within us is the capacity for restoration. It is astounding how incredibility well made we are. Even in our degraded state, brought on by our sin, we can reverse the damage we do, and regain health. God is so good!

Within us is the capability to repair. Tissue, organs, cells, bones, and muscle can mend with proper care. Avoiding harmful and destructive foods, beverages, and activities are essential to rebuilding good health.

Living and using aright those things God gave us to be well, and stay well (Genesis1:29), we can reverse many of the adverse effects resulting from bad choices and habits. God created us to heal when we change our practices, and follow His original plan. Our bodies can restore to health, if we will live as God created us to live.

We Can Change

We can change our thinking and behavior; but we have to choose, it is a choice. We can be fit and live in harmony with God and self, by choosing what is salubrious. Eating right, sunshine, fresh air, physical activity, good rest, drinking plenty of water, moderation in all things, and most of all trusting in God and His ability to heal us, this is how we have optimal health.

While on earth Jesus did more healing than He did anything else, He wants us to be well, to be in health.

God's Amazing Love

In love for His creation, God set a plan in motion to rescue His rebellious children from sin and death. Jesus took our place and paid the penalty for our sin, to make us whole. Praise His name! Christ came to recreate and restore us to wellness and eternal life. (Ge3:15;Ro6:23;Mal4:2;Jn3:15,16).

How amazing is God’s love and grace, so amazing! Even though we chose to walk contrary to our Creator He would not let us go. He died that we may live healthfully and eternally, despite our sinfulness, in spite of this sinful world.
