God's Prevailing Power gods power
by PJ Salas

"... My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness." 2Corinthians12:9.

God does not need our feebleness to make His strength perfect. His might is already perfect; it is without bounds, fathomless, and absolute. However, we understand God's power more fully when human processes and means are uninvolved; thus, it is more difficult to deny God.

God's Power Accomplishes

The word perfect in the above verse comes from a Greek word τελειόω, which means "to accomplish". In our weakness, God’s power accomplishes in us what we are unable to do.

God, in His love, shows mercy in giving us every opportunity to recognize Him at work in our lives, to see Him helping us, so that we will choose Him who is our Creator, our Savior, our help, and our hope. Moreover, we have to fight against the plain evidence to reject God.

We walk in darkness, blinded by rebellion and sin. God in His grace provides plentiful occasions to acknowledge Him, to know Him, to appreciate and celebrate Him.

God's Power Evident

More often than not, people refuse to see God employed on their behalf, and we renounce Him as Creator. But God wants us to walk in His truth, to bask in His light, to accept His love, and receive His grace and help; and this is a primary purpose in His demonstrated strength.

When we are humbled, helpless, and without human support and devising, God’s capacity, His vigor and robust strength are obvious. In our inability, His ability is distinctly and unmistakably evident.

God's Power Prevails

In spite of human frailty and incapacity, God’s power prevails. It matters not what our condition or situation is, nor how hopeless we are; nor does it matter the number of people who are against us, God's power prevails. This is more clearly understood, and remarkably obvious in the face of helplessness.

When we press forward despite the odds, despite weakness, God’s prevailing power, His might, not only carries us through (Isaiah46:4;63:9), but is overtly visible, and undeniable.

Enabled Through God's Power

Through God's loving grace, and by His extraordinary might, His power enables us to do and be, as we should in Him. There is no greater force than God. His power prevails, even, and especially when all fails.

God is love, and it is His prevailing power of transforming love that we all so desperately need. Come out of the darkness of this world and walk in the light of God’s love and triumphant strength, through the Lord Jesus Christ.

“... I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like Me.” Isaiah46:9“even to your old age, I am He; and even to your gray hairs I will carry you. I created you, and I will bear you, and carry you, and will deliver you.” Isaiah46:4.

“those who cling to the Lord will renew their strength, they will mount up with wings as eagles, they will run and not be weary, they will walk and not be faint.” Isaiah 40:31. ”… My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness. …” 2Corinthians12:9.
