How to Become a Christian
What Is a Christian?
Being a Christian means you recognize you are a sinner in need of a Savior who takes your place, and pays the penalty for your sin, restoring you to God and eternal life.
A Christian is someone who believes in Jesus Christ the Savior, the only begotten Son of God, and follows His teachings recorded in the Bible. Christians live in faith to God, and in their faith, they trust in God with all their heart. They live as the Bible teaches through Jesus Christ, the Savior, Deliverer, and Redeemer.
Why Do I Need to Be A Christian?
God created our universe, He made our world, and formed human beings. In the beginning we were perfect; but that all changed when sin entered our world, which brought disease, death, and eternal loss.
The first earthly pair brought sin into our world through rebellion against God; and their rebellion, which is sin, brought death. Sin is rebellion against God and His government, against His law, and against His will.
God is life, He is the Life-giver. Sin separates us from God and brings death. When we are separated from our life source death ensues; it is the natural consequence of sin. And although Eve and Adam are responsible for bringing sin into our world, every human being has participated in sin ever since. The Bible says all have sinned (Romans 3:23).
Because we all sin, because sin brings death, both temporal and eternal, we need a solution, we need to be reconciled to our Creator. Our rebellion against God, which is sin, necessitates our redemption. We need to be brought back to God from whom we have separated ourselves.
Our Need For God
Look around our world and examine your own life. What you will notice is continual problems and trouble. We do damage; we destroy, we do wrong, we harm and cause pain and all because our preference is for our will, and our way.
The truth is, only God knows the right way; and this is very evident in our world, and in our lives. The fact of the matter is, we are in a state of unrest; our world is unstable and turbulent. This planet is in turmoil and so are we; and we have no lasting solution. We need to come back to God, to be reconciled to our Creator.
God Loves You - God Wants You
Because we cannot live without our life source, although we act as if we can, we need a way back to God, the Life-giver. God never intended for us to die. Death entered our world because of sin. Sin brings death. Although we rebelled against our Creator and separated ourselves from Him, He loves us, and does not want us to be lost in sin and death.
God wants us to come back to Him, to be reconciled with Him. Just as a rebellious child runs away from their parents, and those parents so love the child that they do not want him or her wayward; they want the child back. So it is with God, our heavenly Father.
Because God loves us so much, because He cares so deeply for you, He made a way of escape, a way out of sin and death. His Son Jesus came to take our place. He took our place and paid the penalty for our sins, so we do not have to be lost eternally, so we do not have to live in sin all our earthly days.

Living the Christian Life
Becoming and living as a Christian is the most important and best thing anyone can do. Being a Christian means living a quality, wholesome life by living in the will and ways of God. It means turning away from the things that are sinful and turning to Jesus who is sinless, every day.
Jesus holds all the power you need to be the best version of you. Jesus will take away your sins, and He will help you live a life of growth in uprightness. Daily, as you walk with Him, He will strengthen you for the challenges you face in overcoming sin, self, and satan.
Jesus came to save us from our sins, and from eternal death. He shows us how to live a godly life, and He helps us to live that life every day. Trust Jesus to help you. Believe Him. Keep Him in your heart, and fixed your eyes on His ways.
"My child, give Me your heart, and let your eyes observe My ways." Proverbs 23:26.
Begin and end each day in prayer with God. Read the Bible every day; morning is best. When you pray, let it be in humble adoration to God, with respect and thankfulness to Him.
Trust God and Read
Trust God for the answers you need. Share your concerns and joys with Him. Believe He hears you, and know He will answer you. Pray throughout your day. When you are around others you can pray quietly, in your mind; the Lord knows, He hears.
Read the Bible every day to learn about God and what He wants and expects, and about what you can expect from God. Read the four gospels, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John; then start at the beginning of the Bible, read a chapter a day, and pray before you read asking God for His understanding.
